Mandy Final Session 19th April 2010
Hello..... We've come to the end!! We came in last week for one of our final sessions and also to catch up on any problems we may have had. In the last session, I completed 2 activities and added my voice to titles and navigation buttons.
During this session, I have completed the final 2 activities and have finished any things that were left to do. However, I came across a problem when i tried to play my program and the reset button on page "australia" was not working although it had worked previously.. Tried everything to retify this but was unable to.
For my disc cover and dvd case, I followed the same theme of around the world and maintained the blue, purple, and world map theme.
I have found this assignment quite challenging but have learnt alot about the program and what can be done to enhance pages. I have enjoyed working on my own and have much preferred it to wortking with a partner as I am responsible for any mistakes that are recified.
When i added the voices to the titles and buttons, My initial idea was to add voice to all the written words on the program. However I found this was too hard and demanding on my time so resulted in just putting voice to the titles and buttons on the main pages.
Overall, i am pleased with the result of the finished program apart from the "reset" button but am pleased i managed to complete this ontime and with all the detail i wanted to include.
Publishing was quite a challenge but eventually myself, Mandy, and Steve worked together to produce the final outcome.

Mandy 18th March
Hellooo....
Havent written to you for the last couple of weeks so giving an update now.. Over the last few sessions i have been working on my Opus Production and have been deciding on a topic and thinking of activities in which to add to it.
I decided that I am going to focus upon Countries Around the World as a mian tpoic as it has alot to focus on and discover.. The plan for my activities is to have 5 pages coming from the main page which from them, will have activities based around the main topic.
In the last 2 weeks, I have completed the sections labelled Eurpoe & Australia. They consist of a wordsearch and mark & reload activity. I am very pleased with how they have turned out and am hoping to complete the following 3 activities during the week.
During todays session, i have experimented with sounds and have added sounds to the current title pages and buttons that navigate away from the activity main page. This has been very fun but very time consuming but i think the effort will pay off when the product is completed.
I am looking forward to working on this during the week and adding more sounds in the lecture next week.

Suzie Final Production 18th Feb 10
Today was the day that we filmed our show.. I think that the message was portrayed and that the overall result was good. I enjoyed the process although found it quite challenging at times.. I think me and Helen worked well as a team and are overall very pleased!!

Last week i thought i had updated my blog but it hadnt saved so here doing it agin!! last week, Myself and Helen set ourselves the task of adding the sounds and visual additions to our film.. We found it difficult to sort out what sounds went where and how to change the sound half way through.. We found this to be a big problem so in the end we decided to keep the original music throughout the clip.. We added some visual effects such as smoke and fire to our film which really brought home the drink driving message.
I am pleased with how our film has turned out but think if we did this again i would approach the filming aspect differently. we filmed ours using the camera and not the on screen button but after some editing we managed to make our film playable although it is not very smooth.
I think we worked well as a team and are pleased with the final film.
Hopefully filming will go well and the message will be clearly portrayed.

Suzie - 4th Feb 10
Hello... Myself and Helen come into uni this week (reading week) in order to crack on with the filming of our project and see if we can complete this stage in order to edit the film and add our sound effects appropriately.. We are hoping that by doing this, this will enable us to finish our film within the next lesson ready for filming.
We first started by making sure our props were made and finished and then proceeded to filming. Our character, named Britney, is first filmed dancing at a disco hall. The film shows our character dancing and drinking bottles of beer all night. Eventually, Britney drinks so much that she becomes sick and is unable to stand up. The film continues with Britney going outside to her car and trying to get in and drive away. Following a series of unfortunate events the film ends with the car crashing into a tree and Britney being thrown from the car.
The plan for next week is as i said before, to add sound effects and general touch ups.
We are also going to highlight the dangers of drinkdriving with some statistics of drink driving..

Suzie - 10th December 2009
Today is our final lesson before christmas. Myself and Helen have decided that we are going to change our topic to drink driving rather than the carbon footprint issues at the moment. We think this will be simpler in the long run given the time span we have left to complete the assignment.
In the lesson today, we completed our backgrounds and models ready for filming in the next session which is around the 8th of February 2010. We designed the 2 film sets that we are going to use: 1) disco room showing woman dancing and 2) a road scene with tree and fence. In that lesson we are planning to film our topic and edit that during the follwing week ready for presentation.
I am really pleased with what we have obtained today and am looking forward to the next process.
